Unit 1: Respiratory System

You've got to breathe. While most of what we do breathe doesn't really do much to help us (most of our air is nitrogen, while under 20% is actually oxygen) if it didn't happen we wouldn't last long. Cells need oxygen to burn simple sugars to create energy molecules called "ATP". This process within your cells is called cellular respiration. In this Unit you will examine the structures of the respiratory system as well as external & internal respiration.
